Kickstarter – 20k reached!

We honestly couldn’t have dreamed of anything better for this Kickstarter campaign. We now have everything we need to pay for the post-production, and we even cleared the debts we piled up while working on the film. With this stress off our shoulders, we can now focus on making this film the most awesome it can be. You’re the best!

Since we feel like celebrating, we’re offering to every backer who gave 25$ and more a free ticket for our film’s big launch party that will take place in Montreal, Canada in spring 2014 (date and place still to be determined). You can check out the details on our Kickstarter front page, which was updated with new info. If you have pledged less that 25$ and really want to come, you can upgrade your pledge to 25$ now and be sure to reserve your spot, or wait for later when we figure out where it’s going to be and how many people we can fit in one place. In any case, our backers will be the first to know if we have extra tickets to sell!

On another note, we just did an interview with Dominick Rabrun who does the Dom’s Sketch Cast on YouTube. Basically, we talk a bit about ourselves and our project and you can see him do a sketch of us at the same time. We also provided him with a couple of exclusive sequences from our film so it can be fun to watch even if you already know us!

By the way, they also wrote a great article about us on Cartoon Brew!

As we wrote on the front page, we won’t be adding any new stretch goal from this point, but you can still continue to back the project if you want and help us get this film to as many festivals as possible!

Again, thanks everyone for your support!

Kickstarter – One week later…

Hi everyone!

We have now reached more than three times our initial goal after just one week on our Kickstarter page! Once again, thank you for your continuous support.

Now that word has spread through most of our friends and relatives, we’re hoping this week to get more attention in the medias to bring a new flow of visitors to our Kickstarter page. We’ve sent this morning a press release to more than a hundred journalists. Branchez-vous and the Huffington Post have already published our story. Let’s hope more news websites start doing the same!

For those of you who might have missed it, we released last week a HD version of our teaser on our Vimeo page. It has already been featured on itsartmag, evermotion, softimage.tv and lesterbanks. Check it out if you want to see our teaser in its full glory!

One last thing worth mentionning is that the animation department of the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, where we all studied, has made a very generous contribution of 1000$ last wednesday! Thanks again to all the department!

Stay tuned for more infos on the campaign, it’s still far from over!

Wow, guys… you’re incredible! 🙂

We must admit that we didn’t plan for everything to happen so quickly so we didn’t really think about what we would do if we attained our goal that fast.

You’ve been so generous that we feel we must thank you properly. We talked with our musicians and they agreed that we give the film soundtrack for free to everyone that backed the project. Of course that includes everyone that will help us from this point.

To be honest, 5000$ was the strict minimum we needed to pay for the external fees of the film, but that doesn’t take into account all the costs of living for the next few months until December. If we want to avoid borrowing again, and repay our current debts, we estimate we’d need about 20 000$. So if you feel like helping us, by all means, don’t stop now!

We’d be glad to give you guys bonus gifts if we reach a higher amount, so let us know what you’d like and we’ll see what we can do!

Thanks everyone for the support! It’s great to see that people like what we do!

Week 85 – KICKSTARTER!

This is it! You can now access our Kickstarter page and see the first official teaser for Le Gouffre!

You’ll also notice that we did a few changes to the website. First of all, we replaced the old Le Gouffre logo with the new one we designed for the Kickstarter campaign. If you go take a look at our gallery, you’ll see we replaced all the images with new ones taken directly from the film. Also, since we’re starting to have a lot of videos on our Vimeo account, we figured we could as well post them on the website in a new Videos section.

So there you go, we invite you to share our Kickstarter with everyone. Le Gouffre fans, this your chance to help us finish this film!
