Bonjour à tous!
Cette semaine, on vous présente la technique que nous utilisons pour rendre des gouttes de pluie qui glissent sur le visage de nos personnages. Vous allez voir que c’est assez simple, et ça a en plus le mérite d’être beaucoup moins compliqué que de se lancer dans de la vraie simulation.
D’abord, nous créons une texture de gouttes animées. Pour ce faire, nous utilisons After Effects ainsi qu’une texture du visage du personnage en question. Ainsi, il est plus facile d’animer les gouttes pour qu’ils suivent les contours du visage.
Une fois l’animation terminée, nous exportons le tout en série d’images avec seulement les gouttes en noir et blanc pour pouvoir l’appliquer sur le modèle 3D.
Voici un exemple de plan qui nécessitait des gouttes de pluie dans le visage.
Il suffit de créer une nouvelle passe avec un matérial constant qui utilise la série d’image que nous avons rendue précédemment. Ainsi, la texture va suivre le modèle sans problème, peu importe les déformations.
C’est tout! Maintenant, il ne reste plus qu’à rendre la passe afin de pouvoir l’utiliser au compositing. Règle générale, un petit masque pour faire ressortir les gouttes dans les zones plus réflective aide à rendre l’effet plus convaincant. Voici l’image finale :

Je suis sincèrement impressionné par toutes les techniques que vous utilisez et créez pour avoir un meilleur workflow. (Entre autre le nCloth très beau et bien contrôlé) Et maintenant que j’ai fini mon film et que je l’ai compositer à mort, je vois combien c’est un outil puissant et pratique!
Des fois faut pas se casser la tête… Le 2D est très puissant et vraiment pratique lorsque bien appliqué.
